Winters Finale (PART II)

ENTER, TARAS
The battle with the guardian was on. In a bolt of shadow and scale, Taras tore into Matthias, only his giant form saving him from sudden, gruesome death. Spells and attacks were thrown, but it seemed the shadow wyrm was an indomitable engine of destruction.

CARESS OF THE NIGHT MOTHER
That is until Victoria laid upon him a necromantic touch, breaking nearly every enchantment he'd placed upon himself. While drawing Taras' ire, the archmage of darkness successfully weakened the wyrm to the point of mortality.

RETRIBUTION OF MATTHIAS STORM-FATHER
Staggered by the vicious onslaught, Matthias nearly succumbed if not for the healing care of Finduilas. Once healed enough to stand, the Regent of the Fist called on all his reserves to deliver a series of attacks that rocked the entire Pyramid of Time. The shadow wyrm went skulking into the darkness, but not before stripping most the group of their own enchantments.

I THINK I OWE YOU THIS
Sev and Matthias went into the dark after Taras, followed by Serren and the others. In the black, despite many light spells, darkness pervaded and the shadow wyrm was in his hunting element. Sneaking up behind Victoria, he bit down on her upper half and trapped her in his jaws. Though the others sought to kill the wyrm off, they only managed to wound him, and provoke a reflexive clamping on Victoria till she nearly was severed in half. On a miraculous escape, Victoria tore away and unleashed her retributive fury. Finduilas again came to the healing rescue.

CALL OF THE HUNT
Matthias evoked the power of his blood-soaked stein to call on two massive wolves each the size of elephants to attack the gargantuan wyrm. While unable to land hits, they did consistently pick Taras out in the darkness, preventing him from hiding. The group continued their furious combined attacks.

OBLIVION SIGH
Taras came at the group through two more shadowy breath weapons as he circled and attacked in the dark, killing off wolves, mephits, and even sending the necromancer into the final stages of destruction before Finduilas swooped to her aid.

THE GUARDIAN RETREATS
With sorcery, steel and most of all will, Taras was driven to a bloodied state he never thought possible in such a magnificent form. Genuinely frightened, he fled, unwilling to sacrifice his life for the cause, especially given Serren's biting logic spoken earlier.

MEMORIAL OF THE OLD GODS
Gabriel intact, along with the rest of the group, they marveled as the many-layered magical darknesses fell away with Taras's retreat. He was truly equivalent to a god of shadow for the perpetual night he sustained on the MAMMOTH bottom level of the Pyramid of Time, collosal statues of the fallen deities making it sort of a Memorial of the Old Gods. The sprawl was so massive the group were like ants in a man-sized room, the memorial temple miles across and high.

GATE TO INCARCERI
The same demonic chorus sung out from a titanic portal across the way, along with the same purple-yellow light that nearly broke apart the glacier before. It traced up the walls and out beyond the pyramid, again assaulting the glacier. Deafening cracks and the whine of crackling ice breaking apart heralded a grim outcome.

Moving closer to the source, they found huge claw marks scraping the floor up to the towering portal, what Fin recalled as the actual claw marks of Kultuss himself as Vaness and Altan dragged him into the glacial plane. As the wind coming out of the portal reversed into a suction, like one, massive inhalation, the group stole themselves for what was undoubtedly the last and most important battle in this Demon War.

PROOF
Matthias took the time to scrawl some important runes of their journey into the floor, the story of the would-be Saviors, testament that few stood against the awesome mighty of Annihilation, that the group dared to defend creation.

THE END IS NYE
The group used whatever means available to prepare themselves against Shalraza, casting protective and offensive spells, as well as tapping into all their knowledge for insight into defeating her.

The truth was no one knew the exact origins of the self-titled Ice Queen, the supreme monarch of demons, powerful and willful enough to command the most chaotic, evil entities in the universe. Daughter, Simulacrum, or a Reincarnation of the goddess of murder, madness and chaos, did it really matter now, on the doorstep of creation-wide destruction?

Whatever her origins, whatever her potential, what is certain is that she is Adversary, enemy of all, and must be defeated.

Winters Finale (PART I)

The Final Battle
The Final Battle has begun! The northern forces massed at Ivristel are facing total annihilation. Twenty-four hours of straight fighting has seen losses on both sides and ruin throughout the lower city tiers, but the walls yet hold and the majority of the demons, aberrations, outsiders and undead are outside the walls, choking the pass of Ilon and coming in waves of thousands against the gates. Demon siege weapons fling corpses and fiery, tar-soaked rocks far over the walls, crashing into castles and keeps, crumbling shops and homes.

One boulder nearly toppled the balcony Matthias, Fin, Victoria and Katcha reappeared on, but the skald grew to giant proportions to catch the projectile. With flung debris comes hundreds, maybe thousands, of flying monstrosities ranging from vulturous vroks, winged varguiolle heads breathing acid, succubi flocks and a slew of other strange and terrible entities.

Sev and Serren find their companions taking flight. Chaos, fighting and bloodshed dominate the landscape. Screams, crashes, roars, wing beats and more than a few magical explosions resound at the foot of Mount Ilon.
Lord of Disaster
As the group made their way to the palace in search of Ilpa, Serren went to help reinforce the gate. He conjured a force wall, buying the gate at least a 19 minute reprieve... or did it?
Several minutes later, Serren reaches the gates and casts the force wall. As it goes up, the demon armies retract, clearing the way for an unnerving sight. The ground before the gates cracks, ruptures and spraws upward of a hundred feet. Crawling from the earth is a demon of gargatuan size, a pink, muscular giant's frame whose midsection is a thick, veined shaft dragging a massive spiked shell like some sort of hermit crab. He wears a finned mask covering all features and wields a sword it takes four arms to lift properly. In one violent cut, the force wall shatters. Demons surge in and continue their gate attack.
After dodging the worst of Kizet's sonic disruption, Serren teleported away before the demon lord could launch a full attack upon him.

The Hoping
Emperor Issima guarded twelve mages on his bedroom balcony as they collectively worked on a massive-looking spell. Issima was quick to direct the group down the hall and into the foyer, where Gravant and a mage named Melmaunt guarded the ancient girl.

Rushing down, Finduilas was confronted with the problem of activating this mysterious power. There was little time to think it through, however, as demons began to breach the foyer in attempts to kill them all. As soon as the two women were pushed together, a divine fire ignited around them both and Finduilas reflexively began to unlock the ten seals in rapid succession.

Meanwhile, Sev, Gravant and Matthias did their best keeping the foyer safe, combating a slew of strange and ferocious demons.

Spell Circle
The mage Melmaunt had a problem of his own, calling Victoria and Serren over to aid in a jointly cast gate that could breach the magical wards inherent in the glacier itself. In a formidable display of arcane mastery, the two spellcasters were quickly and efficiently able to channel their power into the green mage Melmaunt and allow him to cast a gate into the Heart of the Polarbite. The strain caused him to momentarily lose consciousness, but the door was open.

At about that same time, the final seal was broken and Ilpa lurched back, breathing a divine light heavenward which blew the entire roof off. The storm clouds fled, revealing sun and blue sky, and a golden gate opened like a halo above the unconscious Ilpa's head. Suddenly the sound of clarion trumpets and rushing wind released all the forces of On-High: angels, celestials, lupinals, gem dragons, goodly magic beasts and divine elementals. The display brought tears into everyone's eyes, astounded by the beauty, and perhaps moved by the notion that maybe not all was lost.

Shaping the Prison
Without further delay, the group, upon the emperor and Melmaunt's insistence, leaped through the portal and onto their final confrontations. It was dark, flooded, and unearthly cold. Fin began to freeze over but managed a protection spell before death claimed her. Of the rest, various bloods and spells were enough, but the cold was gods aweful.

Before moving on any further, Sev decided to make the prison. In a display of druidic power and mastery not seen since the first age, the archdruid of the north summoned and sealed the four elements and merged them into a perfect container. The form he chose was a delicate flower, poetic and personal. He also chose the guardian, slipping the prison into his pocket and in the enveloping ooze of Snot.

In the Heart of the Polarbite
The portal shut behind them, the group moved through a flooded passage and into a massive basin maybe 700 feet across, ringed with seven portals. Five of the portals spewed super-heated saltwater down a demon-made lake of boiling sea 300 feet down, melting the heart of the glacier. Overhead in the dome flickering blue light revealed massive shadows of ancient dragons and demons in their true forms, each large enough to rend whole mountains. They squirmed and shifted anxiously, even as cracks formed along their prison. The glacial plane and the material plane's thin barrier was breaking.

The group quickly dismantled the portals and began using every spell they could to cool the water, but cooling a boiling lake was quite a feat to manage. They did manage to alter the temperatures slightly, but the rapid change only served the crack the walls of the basin even more.

They also discovered the water was flooded with the corpses of dead devils, everything from imps to mariliths, the final line of defense broken. Victoria animated several of the more intact ones to aid the group.

From the Depths
Then came a demonic chorus, a wave of negative vibrations in the form of sickly purple-yellow light that surged from the depths and throughout the ice. Hairline fractures became gaping cracks and a hundred foot fissure. Finduilas expended a precious miracle to heal the ice, which only began to slowly suffer the same fate as the noise continued. Matthias tried to drown the power with the loudest song he knew, a jotun drinking song, but even that proved only to slow the inevitable deterioration.

Wasting not a second more, the group dove down, down through the boiling, black depths toward the source of the disruption.

Pyramid of Time
They found the tip of a pyramid exposed in the basin bottom, the majority of it still encapsulated in the ice. It was scrolled in warnings written in every language and a part of it had been clawed open. Swimming inside, the walls were black and a large door looked to have been hastily shut and slowly bubbling around the edges, suggesting the interior held air. Matthias shifted into giant form, tearing the portal away long enough for the group to be sucked in, then rolling and getting sucked in himself in such a way it also slammed the door back on.

Everyone crash-rolled with the water into dark halls, a white light glowing somewhere around a corner far and away. The dim illumination revealed breathtaking "snap-shots" of genesis itself, pictures of Raya's birth and the actual goddess herself, of the creation of Othyr and Lordanna, and the beginnings of life kissed upon the barren rock. Most were absorbed by the scene, though Serren's pricking managed to pull them out of their stupors. Everyone was changed forever by the realistic likenessess of the two goddesses, though. Eternal beauty branded their minds, haunting them forever, and at the same time guarding against any fear.

Vaness
... the woman who weakly shuffles around the corner without falling under a similar spell as with the murals. She is the most beautiful ice elf you have ever seen, features beyond immaculate, in brilliant platinum armor dented and bloody. A ruined helm is tucked under one arm and a broken longsword in the other. Blood splatters her face and seeps from her breastplate. When she looks at you, its thoughtful, concerned, but also fierce and sends chills.
Victoria accurately guessed Vaness, the goddess slipping against the wall and into Sev's arms. She was in her final moments, quickly explaining that not all the gods died. She endured to bolster the glacier against Kultuss who still lived imprisoned. Shalraza sought to free him, all the ancient dragons and demons, and birth the dragon god a son that would be beyond any other power in the universe, godly and sparked, an evil akin to the great nothing Chrysaor. It would tear down all creation, all time, and destroy not only the world and the people here in and now, but across all times, all existences. She begged the group to defeat Shalraza's guard dog Taras, then the demon queen herself, before the End of Days arrived. With a final apology, she died, despite the best efforts of the archdruid and his mortal healing.

Taras
Passing down the halls and down the pyramid levels, marked with such horrors as the true faces of Delilah, Kultuss and Laz, and all the wars and uprisings of history, the group finally found themselves staring at their own lives snap-shot on the walls. The final images were of the group passing into a gigantic room with red eyes, just as they passed into a gigantic room of magic darkness.

It took some amount of light casting and investigation to find the shadow wyrm, though much talk was had, of Sev berating his former little tyrant, of proclamations of whipped and fodder, and finally in the breaking of a back wall and the revealing of the dragon's true position:

You startle, clinging to the images of eternal beauty, for this beast nearly looks a god himself. Ebon drips from his many-fanged maw, long and sleek like a crocodile and edged with sharp fins leading to jagged crests above piercing red eyes and down a long neck and into muscular, pounce-fueling shoulders.

He must be over seventy feet long given what you see, and seeping black smoke and magic darkness."Dying time."

Session 72

The Giving of Gifts
The next morning, each of the Saviors was met by someone who cared for them and given gifts and equipment that would, gods willing, help decide the outcome of the battle in their favor. Though perhaps not everything they could have wished for, it was something, perhaps the straws that would break the icy, demonic camel's back.

Gold vs. Black
Aftweward, Serren spent most the day mediating between his devil girlfriend and their half-dragon live-in, a struggle that quickly went from attempted murder to a cat fight of monstrous proportions. Serren finally had had enough, grabbing their by the scruffs, sitting them down, and attempting what Tazjaree called "group therapy". But despite Serren's good intentions, it didn't really work, and the devil stormed off, only to return a little later, as she and the mage shared equal concern for their unborn daughter. Serren managed to shift the pregnant devil back to Hell for safe keeping, though it would take some ample skill to eventually bring her back... if he survived... if there was anything else to bring back to... if he didn't end up moving down there with her to escape a demon-dragon god's wrath.

The Idyll Plane
Finduilas, after some trouble finding the promiscious Matthias, and meeting Victoria along the way, collected her two closest friends and brought them to Kalinda's plane. Not before collecting her mother, the figgidty Katcha, who was nervouse about meeting her godly granddaughter. However, once inside the plane, looking at beautiful as ever but for 9 new stars always burning in the sky, they hit it off wonderfully. While they played, the three Saviors took some time to bask in the idyllic scenery, the warmth of the sun, the faint smells of mountain flowers and the caress of the wind.

Julaia
A little later, when Finduilas went to inspect the Phoenix egg, she found it had hatched! Kalinda called for the Phoenix, Julaia, who appeared moments later in a blue fireball, a blueflame phoenix with eyes like white stars, a huge presence warm and good. She and Fin thanked one another for what they each had done for the other, though Julaia was revealed to have the same memories of her predecessor but not the exact same personality. It was a new person, and all the old ones, too. Julaia had been acting as companion and guardian of the little goddess while her mother and surrogate father were away.

Goodbye Again
And thankfully the firebird was called, for she curiously asked why the group was not back in Ivristel for the battle, a week having passed by their reckoning of time. Oh the planes...

After a quick, heartfelt goodbye between mother and daughter, Fin took Matthias and kicked Victoria awake, saying it was time to go. She promised to visit Kalinda, or have her come to them, to which the goddess gave a fording reply that she could not leave her plane yet for others like her who "didn't want to play". Everyone was teleported back, but not before Kalinda purified the lich boots for her mother's use.

The Final Battle!
The unsuspecting discovered the worst, that the battle had already begun. In fact it raged, many demons having breached the walls, though the bulk of the army choking the valley of the Ilon Pass for what seemed like miles. Magic, prayer, muscle, nature, will mixed together in the scene below with a thunderous clamor and roar. There was also a funny shrilling sound... When Matthias pulled back the curtain, he barely had time to shift into giant form and catch a catapult-sent rock chunk from collapsing their room. He tossed it aside, even as Fin, Victoria and Katcha prepared to face the end, whatever it may be.

During the time away...
I'm sure you're all confused about having been promised a week of R&R and getting teleported back during the final battle. Forgive my impatience. If there was anything you wanted to do on your own time that we didn't get to (hunting a mammoth mount for instance), things that could have been done by yourself, then talk to me and I'll see what I can do. For pacing reasons I just didn't want to spend any more game time on side stuff, especially since some group member are ready to go on with the show (as am I).

If there is something you wanted to do that we didn't get to, please talk to me before Monday so we can discuss what went down, because next session it'll be too late and I'll be moving on with the present. If it's feasible, I may allow it.

Six days have passed. The first demon and undead army appeared on day 4, but waited until 5 to approach as its reinforcements arrived from Veluvia (who thankfully lacked Anubian weapons and Anansiel). Serren and Sev helped the city defend itself alongside Northstar's Giants, Issima's elves, Dante's vampires, Gravant and the Veluvian survivors, the good barbarian tribes, the raptorans able to fight, and the surviving Mongrel races of orc, goblin, bugbear, hobgoblin and ogre.

It's now the middle of day 6, around 24 hours of straight fighting, and though the city has been breached, the battle is very far from over.

Serren discovered some lore in the House of Scrolls that could help with activating the Hoping, though it seems Fin, as a devotee of Raya, must perform a potentially deadly unlocking ritual.

Sev, through dreamwalking with his elemental guide Stirba, discovered that he would need to combine the worldly elements into a perfect prison with which to entrap the Spark of Delilah and prevent it from jumping.

Both tasks would require the utmost precision and skill (skill challenges forthcoming!)

Experience:

Given individually.

Objectives Include:
1. Fin: Activate the Hoping
2. Sev: Create the Prison (and choose its form).

Session 71

Dragonfall
The elder blue plummeted to his end, but not before attempting to take Serren with him. A combined onslaught of magic and muscle sent the dragon reeling onto the sharp points of the lower crags, where it nearly liquefied from impact. The Battle of Dragonfall was nearly won, even as the now human Victoria was chased away by the massive plume of dust and debris coming from the resulting Arraret Crater.

Gate to Cadavera
The group quickly joined Finduilas back up top, where a tight ring of survivors fought back to back against the Delilahns. With the added might of the group, a collection of demon worshippers pulled all the stops and opened a gate to Cadavera, the plane of shadows. The resulting vacuum sucked all but ten good raptoran in. Finduilas was nearly drawn in herself, but Old Eagle sacrificed himself to ensure his lover's daughter endured. "Thoooooorm!" He shouted, before Serren managed to erect a force wall to plug the dimensional hole. However, that didn't stop whatever monster lurked in the shade, as it battered the wall so hard cracks and dents began to form on the magic.

Meanwhile, the group and ten others faced nearly a hundred surviving Delilahns, but even a hundred wasn't enough, wounded as they were and facing the would-be Saviors of the world. They fell by the score, shriveled, burnt, paralyzed or drained, to deaths in the crater utop the dragon.

Despair
Not even Matthias's words or Finduilas's prayers could fend off the horrible wave of depression that overcame the ten surviving men, the only men in two flocks, who would have to break the news to the women, children, old and infirm that they're flocks as they knew them were gone forever.

Funeral
What might have taken a week or more digging and picking through the gore piles and corpses to find those raptorans deserving burial, the archdruid directed the earth to perform its own sorting and grave making. Within an hour, all the Thormian and Rayan raptoran remains were divided into individual plots and buried over. Finduilas, at the men's behest, performed the funerary rites.

Dragon War
Serren tried to get the group with him, but the grief was still too overwhelming, and impatiently he teleported to Yesenya's location, to find a dragon war being fought above the sharpened ice pillars of the Winter's Crown. The golds, Dejeiv and the coppers, and Alisaadi utop her husband/mount Ternasin fought against the Daithrak, the blacks, the blues and Alisaadi's twin brother aboard the ebon-scalled Graeme. It was chaos, spells and breaths and bodies clashing and reeling, lighting the dusky sky.

Despite Yesenya's orders, Serren stayed to help, managing to divert some attention away from the gold, but at the cost of bringing it onto him. Seven black dragons and three blue dragons charged him from two angles. He managed to open a portal to Torment and swallow the blacks, but three blue dragons unleashed their fury, draining his spell shields. And Daithrak loomed behind them all, anchoring the mage so he couldn't flee and firing a killing beam Yesenya intercepted. As the black elder was about to spew a shadowy breath, Yesenya grabbed her from behind and dispeled the anchors. Serren taunted the black and quickly teleported out.

You're ALIVE!
On the way back to the ice elf city, some suspicious behavior on Victoria's part and some curious perceptions by Finduilas and Matthias uncovered that the necromancer was once again alive! The joy was mixed with a bit of apprehension, as it was no doubt the work of the Father of Lies. However, for the moment, after all the terrible goings on, it was decidedly taken as something good.

Return to Ivristel
And the group returned to Ivristel, a breathtaking city of ancient design, carved of ice, marble and white stone in many tiers on and in Mount Ilon. The walls were manned, the city divided into racial ghettos and army barracks, and every preparation made.

The vampire army had just arrived, crowding the main square and divided into four regiments each representing a house, with a fifth acting as the personal elite of King Dante. Dante spoke with the armored and face-plated elven emperor Issima himself, Northstar beside him. Each of the group made their own small flare as they approached.

Matthias was bidden to wait for Northstar in her private quarters after a quick and heartfelt thanks for the return of her brother's things, and a proud lending of the Glaive of Giantkind. Victoria was also bidden to wait for her master in his audience chamber on the far-perched castle that would be the vampire headquarters.

Lament of the Raptorans
Finduilas, meanwhile, led the ten survivors up to a manor built into the white, snowy ledge of the highest portion of Ivristel, where the Thormian Roost refugees waited. Half of them flew out to meet Finduilas, Katcha with them, asking frantically where the rest of them were. When the news hit them there were only ten survivors, Katcha almost fell out of the sky, and a great wailing was heard over the city, compounded and compounded again as the horrific news spread throughout the manor. Fin attended to her mother and put herself to bed, needing the respite that comes with sleep.

Orgy or Two
Serren wisked to Ivristel, intent on finding the group and dumping yet more bad news. However, Tazjaree clued him in that everyone needed a little down time, to which he finally caved in agreement. Taking full advantage of the break, the devil teleported Serren into the midst of a hot and heavy bugbear orgy and had her way with him. Then, after the mage mentioned wanting a bath, Tazjaree teleported them into a bubble bath in the middle of an elven manor, scaring the hell out of an elf and sending her running naked down the hall. Home owners, the city guard, and even rogue summons couldn't stop Tazjaree from getting second nookie, and she eventually laid a spell that had everyone in the chaos strip down and orgy.

Pregnancy Test
Victoria met the king in a private audience chamber, Dante having brought her some food which she relished. She then explained the whole of her encounters over her time with the group, a tale that arched his brow more times than one. When all was explained, he commended her for her work and bid she continue on with the group in a covert mission to the glacier, an all or nothing attack for the heart of the demon initiative, namely the Ice Queen, so as to prevent the birth of the demon-dragon god and the end of creation as they knew it. Victoria agreed, at which point Dante asked her one last thing, a question which threw her into a near-panick. After becoming mortal, did Que'Nihal have his way with her?

As he moved to fetch a midwife who could tell, Victoria sat alone in the dark, hugging her knees as she faced the weight of a djinni death god child. Ten minutes later a crippled Huma harpy turncoat hobbled in and ordered Victoria to spread them. The crone spoke only in rhyme, tapping and prodding the newly-turned human, then revealed she was indeed pregnant. Victoria went through a dark barrage of emotion, ending in dread. However, before the harpy departed, she said something attempting at poignant, "Though the father evil may be, a mother's love the child's destiny decrees."

Victoria sat a long while weighing everything, startling when Finduilas stumbled into the room, tripped over her wings, and puked a little on her collar.

The Wooing of Northstar
Matthias passed through the underway and into the subterranean ghettos of the orcs and the frost giants, divided and wary of the other. He kept to the latter's, drawing no small amount of attention from the Glaive of Giantkind, the legendary Highlord's Wrath, and Rhathgar's armor. He was stopped by a gang of frost giants, the leader of which was an old aquaintensce from Matthias's younger years, who just barely recognized the runt he used to tease. Hleid led Matthias the rest of the way and summoned Northstar's squire Foolwolf to attend to him.

Not long after, Northstar returned, pouring them both some Giant Lager and sitting to... discuss things. Matthias laid on the woo, starting strong with some regaling of past adventures. Things turned a bit cool when her father was mentioned, but the skald managed to reignite the passion. They talked a bit of their child, things again going cool, but Matthias eventually the two were tearing off their clothes and pressing their cold bodies against one another.

Drinking Contest
Tracking down Cheta with his magic cloak, Sev passed into the Veluvian/Barbarian ghetto, finding a refreshing change from somber, a full-blown festival. Apparently it would have been Founder's Day had Veluvia still existed, thus the old inhabitants celebrated, their newly arrived barbarian cousins joining with them, the lot refusing to give into the darkness until it literally strangled the last speck of life from them. Drinking, dancing, singing and swordplay whirled around the cheered druid.

Sev found Cheta sleeping with her babe held tight. He decided to let her rest, seeking out her sister Sarn. The barbarian necromancer was sitting on a burlish man's lap chugging a stolen Giant Lager. She nearly fell off on seeing Sev, taking the goblin in a big hug and inviting him into their drinking contest. He accepted, four contestants lined up for show as bets were laid. Sev's odds weren't very good.

The contest began in a flurry, drinks slammed and effects quickly felt. Giant Lager was a normal brew for a giant, but for creatures half their size, the effects were like a baby taking a shot of vodka. Even the barbarians reeled, but the four contestants held on long enough for a fifth to join, a disbelieving Finduilas who couldn't believe Sev was in the lineup.

By that time, the contestants were four rounds deep. Fin chugged to catch up, but by the time she downed her fifth Giant Lager, the brew had kicked her ass into near-unconsciousness. She spoke a kooky slurred language which, oddly enough, only drunken Sev (nearly there himself) could understand. She cheered the archdruid until he passed out and fell on top of the passed out Sarn. Cheta, awake by now, collected her two, carrying them back to the tent, but not before speaking briefly with Finduilas. The priestess was surprised she knew Sev, and in the gentle way in which Cheta described their relationship it was apparent she loved him.

Love of My Life
Sev woke to Cheta gently rocking him beside a passed out Sarn and infant Efflam, the family he'd found since all the demonic chaos began. He professed his love, and she hers, a passionate kiss sealing what had been growing within both of them since their first meeting those four months ago. Though the others in the tent and make-shift nursery who were awake cringed and looked sickened by a barbarian woman and a goblin joined, Cheta paid them no mind, asking if Sev would like to go for a walk. He agreed, the two wandering off to the city walls underneath an impossibly brilliant span of stars.

They found a spot between two guard posts where they could be alone, looking out over the dark, snowy valley that would soon be filled with demons and dead. Holding each other, Cheta remarked how she knew he was important the first time they met, before he was ever archdruid. He confessed he believed her more important, being the reason he fought at all, the love of his life. In a sudden wildness, Cheta asked if he wanted to do it right there on the wall. Though Sev had some apprehensions, guards not very far off in either direction, she tore open his tunic and they went at it. Sev's ability to shift was orgasmic to the goblinth power, sending Cheta into loud wails which echoed across the city. As the guards rushed to investigate, Sev shifted again, carrying his love over the rooftops as the two continued to consumate their union. What some might have thought a demon scare tactic was simply the ecstatic shrieking of a woman above them. When both were spent, they laid on an inn top and watched the sun rise in each other's arms. And so was concieved the new goddess of nature...

I'm Kind of Tired...
A half-hour into the full-on deed, Northstar took Matthias by the shoulders and lifted him up and out, gently placing him beside her. She wasn't quite in the climactic throws of passion and it seemed a lot weighed on her mind, the destiny of a people, of the world, a divine child, and the risk of losing the Regent and father. She asked Matthias to leave while she contemplated, moving over to the Giant Lager tankard. Dejected, he did so, Foolwolf outside to escort him to an over-sized guest room.

Sisterhood
Through some random bit of drunken fate, Fin found the gloomy necromancer. They shared words, and news, and ultimately comfort and warmth. What once was a emnity for the other, practically enemies, but surely antitheses, had become two women bound by higher purpose, divine sparks, the horrors of rape, godly motherhood and perhaps most of all by friendship.

3 Days Pass...
During this time, you've all sold the items you wanted to and placed orders or made inquiries about items with the various vaults, vendors, smiths, mages and half-fey-half-fiend doctors inside the city. This has also been a chance at a little down time, which continues next session.

Everyone should make peace with their personal story lines, as this will be the last time till the epilogue.

Session 70

Sorry for the delay, but I was just way too lazy this week. Summary brought to you by Sev. Thanks man!

Shalraspberry
As the party slept someone snuck into Fin & Matt's room, covering the pair in raspberry jam as they slept. In her sleep Fin began to clean Mathias, neck down. The ominous "Shalraspberry was here!" scrawled upon the wall in jam. Meanwhile the rest of the party began to awake jam free. Sev wandering for an early breakfast, while Serren got into typical trouble. Vic taking a bit longer to wake.

Those awake found:

The roost is a huge, hollowed mountain heart, with many side chambers like the branching passages of lungs. And amidst the open space are numerous shelves and ledges holding places of worship, rest, storage and the like. The whole of the place is gray rock streaked with various ore, whose bottom bubbles with mercury wells surrounding the adamantine altar of Thorm and criss-crossed with...narrow stone bridges. Flying to the top of the heart, two main passages lead up to circular perches like eyes and the largest opening like a mouth with a tremendous view of the Dawnspear Mountains.

Two Hundred Funerals
Despite the partying of the night before the Thormians and Rayans, ever responsible, awoke early to get on with the daily tasks. Most importantly of which was the purification the dead. Lead by the Old Eagle and Katcha by the alter to Thorm, those not busy with equally important tasks prayed for the dead. Meanwhile an ominous storm cloud approached the eerie, threatening to strike at about mid day.

An Unusual Storm
Serren & Sev both finding the cloud to be ultimately evil in origin both went to warn the leaders of eerie. Though taking vastly different approaches, Sev warned a Thormian arranging for the Old Eagle to be warned while he led to make an initial investigation. Serren on the other barraged into the funeral, shouting above the prayers about Demon Lords and Ice Queens. Neither approach garnered any particular notice from the flocks.

Big Tyrant
Serrens yelling attracted Victoria to the scene whom began to question Serren about the Ice Queens approach. Sev not wishing the funerary rites to be disturbed ushered the pair out into a quiet side room to speak of the impending doom. The discussion quickly led to an attempt on Serrens life the previous night by Taras, the previously little Tyrant. A huge growth spurt making the little wyrmling now eldar in size. Reinforced was the idea the Tyrant bore the spark of the dragon god Kultuss.

The Nature of Divine Sparks
Learning of a great revelation made by Victoria the previous night the group found out that the sparks bore within each of them cannot in fact be used by them. Only transferred to a child, to create a new god, divine seeds ripe for sowing.

“I learned of a great revelation last night. The sparks that those Chosen few carry...those are the seeds of the new deity. The Spark bearer is -not- the god. More of the bearer of the spark until it can be reborn, or planted, in another new soul.”

A Demon-Dragon God?
The possibility of the Tyrant and Ice Queen mating drew some disgust from the group; not to mention the possibility of a double god produced from their mating. A strange hybrid Dark Dragon.

The Problem with Sparks

The Ice queen as bearer of the spark, in fact draws undo problems. For if the group is to kill her they will simply disrupt the spark sending it floating aimlessly until a new host can be found. Leaving the terrible force still able to torture the universe. On the other hand if they were await a godling to be born and attempt to kill it, it could tear apart the fabric of reality. Thus the only major options remaining are imprisonment or repeated killings of the spark bearer.

The Dark Djinni, Que'Nihal
Fin finally rejoining the group, they were informed the approaching storm did not hide the ice queen, but her second in command. (Leave it to serren to get the intel wrong) Apparentl a Valkyrie visited the sleeping pair and informed them the Dark Djinni Que'Nihal lord of Lies approached. Capable of killing men in innumerable ways, not the least of which is to convince them they no longer exist, leaving them instantly slain. This not quite demon lord will prove to be a competent adversary for the group to fight.

I am the Spark of Laz

Mentioning something important to talk to Fin about, Victoria was temporarily put on hold. Somewhat downtrodden as Fin joined the rest of the praying Raptorans, Victoria moved to leave, the rest of the group stopping her quickly to find out what was going on. With barely a pause Victoria revealed she was in fact the bearer of the spark of Laz. Followed quickly by some good hearted teasing from Mathias to lighten the mood.

The Storm
After the Laz bombshell the group moved quickly up the eerie to the main entrance. Looking out across the Dawnspear mountains at the quickly approaching storm. The storm appeared to move much faster then initially expected, almost immediately upon the eerie already. Raising his hands Sev summoned forth a powerful wind, countering that of the storm, as the clouds blew away it revealed hundreds of Delilahns, and an immense blue dragon bearing upon its back a shadowy figure who no doubt was the Dark Djinni.

Evacuation of the Roost

With the enemy approaching the prayer ended. Finch quickly warning the flock leaders. The young, old and infirm quickly led away by Finch. Heading to the portal by the old roost and then through to Ivirsteel.

Fin's Goodbye
“Fin's eyes meet with Matthias just as she passes him, as she goes to lead the helpless as he leads the strong. An almost fitting moment considering the sparks they once carried.” Fin constantly looking back as she goes, wishfully hoping to return and fight.

Defense of the Roost
As the group led by Finch and her Mother move quickly towards the portal, 400 Raptorans from the Rayan and Thormian flock charged fiercely into battle with the 800 of the Delilahn flock. The Group members the only thing present to try and even the odds against the overwhelming numbers, the dragon and the Lord of Lies.

Battle of Dragonfall

Arraret is a blue dragon of no equal, azure and sapphire scales as large as shields, a body itself over a hundred feet long, a wingspan double that, with a bullish forefront and a rhinosaurus-like head. The whole of it crackles with electricity and seems to attract the storm clouds, its breath producing thunderheads.

Thinning the Numbers

The first few moments of the conflict were tense. As the forces clashed, the party barraged the enemy flock with spells. Proving once again they would not allow innocents to be harmed without one hell of a fight.

Matthias' Legion

With a great shout Mathias called upon thoose within a close radius of him. Taking flight with his magic boots, glaive gripped firmly he led a mighty charge against the rampaging dragon. His fanatical followers cutting a swathe through the surprised and disoriented enemy.

Vic and Sev
The disoriented Delilahns quickly recovered. Swarming Sev and Victoria. Clawing at Victoria as she unleashed a massive nova of negative energy, the crows quickly knocked back. Those around Sev weaved and circled, nervous of storm like energies surrounding him. The goblin striking out with the very forces of nature, The Thormians and Rayans had their own lightning storm helping them.

Vanishing Act
Almost as soon as the battle is joined and the legion reaches the Dragon. The king of Lies slips away, disappearing mysteriously from the back of his mount. The Defenders and attacks battled on fiercely. With talon and wing, weapon and spell the battle was joined from all side, heights and directions.

Dawn is Coming!
As if a beam of light from heaven itself Fin returned to the group, speedy as ever. She dove towards the dragon, unleashing a mighty beam of sunlight.

"These mountians... belong to us! You have made a grave mistake by forgetting that. It's just a matter of time before the sun rises again, stronger than it's ever been, purging the world of vile filth! Dawn is coming!"

Pursuit of Evil
Sev, having activated his cloak in search of Que'Nihal, wheeled about and flew full speed down into the Roost. He could hear crashing and crumbling within.

Rousing the Sleeping Giant
Mathias shifted quickly into a giant. Renewing the attack upon the Arraret with untold fury, as his legion followed him.

A Giant Fumble
The change knock Mathias off balance mid air saw his attacks batter the dragon helplessly. The One rebounding brutally striking deep into his own chest as it cut just margins into his heart. Leaving the giant profusely bloodied.

Arraret's Response
Laughing Arraret opened his wings and maw wide. Floating backwards lightly as his wings catch the wind he laughed a merciless laugh at the Giants mistake. Great roiling lighting unleashed from his maw, nearly incinerating all but the 5 fastest Raptorans in his legion.

You'll Have to Contend with Me First
Warned by Tazjarees call Victoria teleported directly to the Father of lies, in front of him inside the vault. "Not so fast. You'll have to contend with me, first." The necromancer, making her presence yet again known, she would not be ignored so easily. Fin teleported in shortly after, touching the angry star, the brilliant red light filled the room.

Dark Dreams
As Serren moved in deeper towards the Lord of Lies his mind was assailed by dark thoughts. Caught in a realm of lies and potential he was stopped where he was by the dark seductions.

The Living Storm
With the giant Mathias leading them his legion proved far more effective. Slicing into the dragon a number of time and injuring the huge beast.

Delilahn's Gain The Upper Hand
Although the legion seemed to be doing well, the number of the Delilahns were taking a mighty toll upon the other Raptorans, the good flocks forming a tight circle in defense of themselves

Snuffing of the Flame
Falling back from the coffin Findiulas lay in deaths eternal rest. Torn from life by the wiles of Que'Nihal. Mathias instantly feeling the urgency and intensity of the situation rising.

The First Offer
"So much to learn still, my darling..." He voice is actually quite mellifluous, haunting in its supposed sincerity. "I could show you."

"You can show me by DYING! I AM VICTORIA, LADY OF THE DEAD! HEAR ME AND DESPAIR!" She screams in her righteous fury.

Sev's Gamble
Flying in the top entrance to the temple as Finch fell, the rage rose in Sev, clouding his judgement. He dived. Shifting mid flight as he channeled all the energy of nature dangerously through his body. Landing beside Fin he released the energy in a brilliant light. She was returned to life.

Wrath of the Legion
Driven on by the feeling in his stomach Mathias led the legion forth in a blinding barrage of attacks, driving the Dragon close to the very brink of its life. While wiser dragons might have considered fleeing, Arraret is a creature of rage, a veritable hurricane, and comes on again!

Twenty Lives Ended
Proving never to go down easy Arraret unleashed another mighty blast of electricity, the unlucky legion fallen to his vicious attack. The twenty raptorans falling from the sky in a gently smoking and broken forms.

Nye Undetectable
Que'Nihal proved his cunning again, disappearing into thin air only to reappear behind Sev. Stabbing through the goblin's heart with his dagger like claws, only to find the weird little shape shifter's heart was not where it should have been. Que'Nihal slipping away back into thin air all too easily.

Behind you!
Victoria managed to reveal the djinni, only to appear right behind her. Sev pounced, but the demon lord proved far too agile.

Arraret's Rage
On the cusp of death Arraret with a flury of blows sent Mathias tumbling backwards, just as battered.

Delilahn Bloodbath
Delilahns continued to close in on the fast dwindling raptorans, soon there would be none left.

I Admire You For Trying...

"I admire you for trying," Que'Nihal begins, "But you simply are no match. To think they call you Saviors in these lands. What chance do you have against US? We were created to destroy your weak, pathetic breeds." Sev and Victoria continued their fight with Que'Nihal, though neither party seemed to be gaining much ground until Sev landed on an instinctual series of blows off an unnatural stirr in the air, followed by Victoria channeling a terrible charge of negative energy into the lord. He angrily drew back, admitting he could no longer allow her to "live" and that their child could have been beautiful.

Matthias, Triumphant
Fin dives in towards Matthias both hands on his back, he feels a familar tingling warmth all through his body as he's bathed in a golden light. "Finish it, this is your battle. Make yourself the legand you've always deserved to be."

Scowling, the sudden return of a few of his allies spurred him anew and yet more fury was unleashed upon the tattered dragon. Though it was not for long, he could live with the notion that for even brief moments he had stood alone against an ancient dragon and not even thought once of running. The dragon falling from the sky upon tattered wings, releasing not but for a low snarl “pussy” in its dieing throes.

Can't I Die in Peace?
At Serrens will, Arraret began to fall slower. Angered at the sudden stop to his end he writhed up at the mage angrily, wishing simply for a final end.

Victoria Kidnapped!
"After what I've been through I'm not afraid of some demon lord! The seed of Laz will not be yours!" Victoria shouted in rage her voice quieting quickly as the demon grabbed at her, "Don't you dare touch me...". Moments later the pair vanishing in a puff of steam and smoke.

Session 69

You know, despite my summary, you really should go back and take a look at the log. It's strange, gross, offensive and hilarious.

The Number Seven
Matthias plopped a few daughters heads on his glaive for grim effect and followed the rest of the departing group back into the drained passage, between the two shut portals. Serren was able to decipher their labels: Yssidral Bay #7 and Plane of Steam #7, suggesting these were two in a series of portals draining sea water and super heating it. Matthias, Fin and Victoria noticed these were the same kind of portals they destroyed back in the crystal caves, those labeled #6.

The Portal Network
Sev leading the way, the group made it back to the second level, finding many portals leading many different demon-occupied places. When Finduilas passed by a Dawnspear portal dangerously close to her home, she asked if those who could fly would help make sure everything was okay. Ultimately, Izaki and Tasha escorted the Veluvian survivors back to Ivristel, while the group agreed.

Destruction of the Portals
The group destroyed the portals, but for Ivristel and the Dawnspear, effectively cutting off the easy demon troop movement, especially since slaying the Anubian portal makers.

Ilpa expressed her gratefulness and relief in being rescued by the group and promised to do everything in her power to help, including discovering how to access the dormant Hoping within her. She welcomed them as second family and said they always had a second home with her and Gravant. They then departed for Ivristel, expecting the group soon. You noticed Gravant was a changed man since getting his wife back, content and radiant.

Twoth by Teleport
  • Temple Massacre: Serren and Finduilas teleported to the temple interior with the Angry Star, Fin having had the worst time ever in her bag trip between Tazjaree and Idaasila. That aside, dispelling the darkness and the silence revealed a massacre, the Rayan clergy murdered, their wings plucked off and their lungs carved out and placed on their backs in a torture known as the Blood Eagle.
  • Sons of Demon: Hundreds of red eyes opened in the shadows and the pair were assailed by waves of small insectoid goblin demons wearing fetishes and carrying weapons made from raptoran parts.
  • Rise, Anon: Serren called up a half-elemental justicator from the center of a pentagram, an angelic being of fire named Anon that aided in their defense against the seemingly endless surges of filthy, little cretins.
  • Purification by Fire: Finduilas, sobbing and shocked, called upon holy fire to eliminate everything evil in the immediate radius.

Threeth by Portal
  • The Big Reveal: Matthias and Victoria passed through the portal, finding themselves about a ten minute flight from Fin's home. On the way, Victoria decided to reveal her dark secret, even as Matthias made light of matters. The frivolity was cut deadly short with the admission she was the spark of Laz. Matthias, after some pause, assured her he valued her for who she was, not what was inside her, and they continued on, coming upon the vale.
  • Arideidae Vale: The one beautiful vale was destroyed, the green fields and farms now ash or dead brown, and the crystal mere choked with the dead. The hundreds of cliffside homes smoked with ruin and the grand temple, stretching the length of the cliff height, was marred with blood streaks and feathers. Sev waited by the door, waving for them to join him. After a moment's dialogue, sounds of fire and waves of heat and light spurred them within to join the interior battle.
Interior Temple Battle
The inside of the temple was like a wide, hollow cyllinder stretching to the top of the cliff 2000 feet up, all of decorated stone and marble. However it laid in ruins, charred or bloody or both. With the added might of Victoria, Matthias and Sev, the small demons began to withdraw back to the shelves.

That's when the first cottage-sized chunk of architecture crashed into the group, injuring Fin, Sev and Matt. More rained down after, forcing the group to either flee or fly up. Victoria fearlessly flew upward, avoiding five tumbling boulders, Serren teleporting upward just after after moving the Angry Star to safety, Anon behind him.

Hope
Meanwhile, Sev, Matthias and Finduilas ran outside before being squashed by any more debris. In that moment victory seemed empty, perhaps unattainable. The beating of distant wings and the sight of approaching raptorans momentarily lifted the priestess's spirits, until she realized they were crows, Delilah's flock.
Fin just sat in place, shaking in terror and sorrow.

Matthias squeases Finch's shoulder, resenting having to hide like this for the time being but trying to distract himself with reassuring Finduilas.

She seems mostly unresponsive. "He's going to distroy the temple...." She'd say and swallow deep, her throat dry. "I... ah... I guess... at this point he needs to."

Sev looks over at Fin "Hey, I thought you were a cleric... Aren't you gonna fight for your temple's existence?"

"Can't you purify this place too once we get these damn buggers out of the way?"

"I... I could..." She'd say and stand up.

"Damnit Finch, get ahold of yourself. This isn't just your temple.. this is your HOME...your Raya for gods sake... now ACT like her!." Matthias would stand, itching for a fight.

"..... I'm going to fucking kill each and every one of them..." She'd say and start flying for the top of the tower.

"Oh or we could build a new temple!" Sev seems suddenly jovial, "With a bigger tower 30,000 feet in height! LETS SEE THEM TAINT THAT!"

"Now thats more like it!" And Matthias would grin at Sev and go zooming up after her.

Temple Heights
The highest reach of the temple is a wide disc of marble inlaid in gold, supporting a crystal altar that acts like a prism, catching the sunlight from all angles of the open space, just barely roofed with a heavenly painted dome supported by pillars. The view of the Dawnspears is breathtaking, allowing for an unimpeded view of the sun in all its phases of the day, now in late afternoon, so washing the landscape a fiery orange.

Mother Lamarial
But lounging on the altar is the foulest thing you've ever seen, for she is known by some as the Foulwomb and others by Mother Lamarial, Demon Lord of the Overlands. She appears as a twenty foot giantess of jaundice color crossed with a grasshopper, with six extremely long humanoid legs and tentacles for arms. She's spread eagle, her vagina consisting of over half her body, toothy like a maw complete with tongue and black lips. Her torso is thrown backward, with an extra-long head curled like a gourd so as to see with beady eyes over her flopped breasts and stomach. You realize then the title of Mother is nothing more than an unholy mockery, a grotesque abomination numbering in the demon elite.
The First Discharge
The entirety of the group shocked, or at the very least disgusted, Lamarial spewed an acid from her gap, a four-clawed Glabrezu rolling out with it. Sev followed up with a charge, though missed, and the demon son moved in on Serren, managing an unsightly offense which left the mage throwing spell shields left and right.

Prepare for Oblivion
Victoria attempted to end the battle right there, but Lamarial endured the trademark finger of death.
Oh honey, you didn't think I'd come prepared?" Lamarial waves a Deathward scroll.

Matthias retorted, "Bringing protection doesn't seem your sort of forte."
Rape!
Serren ordered his summoned justicator to give the lady a hug, not knowing the torment he'd just condemned his summons to. As the angel grabbed her and released his fiery explosion, Lamarial entered a horny fit, screaming with pleasure as she fucked and fondled the extraplanar servant. The fire itself seemed to do little.

The mage followed up with a dizzying ray, which caught the demon and sent her into vertigo, but the light-headedness seemed only to heighten her sexual experience.

Fiery Vengeance
Fin breathed deep with utter rage, her voice burning with anger and choked sobs. "Barring... just one person... You've murdered everyone I've ever loved, my family, my friends... For that... I'm going to burn you with holy fire. You seek to mock the mother of creation? I seek to emulate her glory. You... you and every single one of your ilk will suffer and burn at my hand!"
And magic exploded in her vagmaw, causing shivers of painful pleasure.

Spunk
Matthias was... covered in acid-vag spunk. Vag spunk. Vag... spunk. He was staring into a vagina the size of a hallway and dripping as his skin sizzled . But the physical burn wasn't as bad as the one he felt in his eyes. This was... Matthias couldn't even come up with a coherent sentence and opted instead for. "Everybody UP," followed by shifting once more into giant form and slamming his glaive into the stone 'floor' with the intention of starting a crack that would buckle the altar under the demons weight. Ugh... just...UGH.
After a devastating barrage, the floor was breaking apart, though in his fury his glaive kicked up on a fragment and stabbed him in the ribs. He tore it out with a grunt, content with the self-infliction if it meant getting rid of the sight before him.

Angels and Orgasms
Lamarial channeled her negative energies into the enduring angel, fucking him furiously all the while. In a sudden burst, the vagmaw spewed a white, acidic froth over the group.

Reverse Gravity
The Glabrezu, sensing the floor coming apart, reversed gravity, he, his mother, Anon and Sev flipping upside down to fight on the cracking mural. He then caresses his mother's cheek and removed her dizziness.

You Disgust Me, Die
Victoria slowly rotates around so she's facing "up" again. "You disgust me." She points her Finger at Lamariel, and says, "Die."

The demon lord shudders and spats, tongue lolling out of her vagmaw, clutching her chest and clawing into her breasts till their ribbons. She trembles and goes still, still suspended on the ceiling.
With the demon lord dead, Serren ensured the ceiling remained supported with a wall of force, Anon climbed out from under Lamarial's bulk to attack the demon, and Finduilas administered a mass heal.

Glaivewrath
Matthias abandoned the crumbling floor, instead going straight for the Glabrezu, which was utterly destroyed in flashes of steel, cold and lightning. With the demon dead, the group began to discuss just what to do with the lord's body.

BOO!
Lamarial leaps up, screeching as her vagmaw's lips peel away to reveal a gnashing mess of teeth akin to a shark and venus fly trap mixed. Her six legs bend backward into claws and her gourd-face splits opens like a dread blossom to reveal a whipping tongue. "BOO!"
The shock was so great, it sent Matthias running. He dropped his glaive in a panic, a grim shadow of his Anubian nightmare world...

Puss Milk
Following up her scare, Lamarial's breasts stiffened like cacti, her nipples burst, and she sprayed the group with green-white puss milk. It made its way into Finduilas and Matthias's mouths, sending them into violent wretching fits.

Lets Wrassle
Sev, in icy sloth form, grabbed the vagmaw by the lips and attempted to throw it down, but she proved entirely too strong, ultimately scarring him with huge vaginal bitemarks. And while Sev kept her occupied, Victoria removed Matthias's fear, though still he puked, while Anon tried a failed series of attacks.

Lamarial triple leg locked Sev, her pubic hair lashing out for extra hold, and the vagmaw swallowed the upper half of the archdruid. The Foulwomb moaned in ecstacy as she enveloped the sloth, slowly munching and swallowing her way down. He then shifted into an acid form, surging through her tubes and burning as he went.

Don't You Know Who I Am?
Victoria looks up at the demon lord, her face a mask of quiet anger. She focuses again, throwing a dispel magic on her to remove the Death Ward. "Don't you know who I am?"

"You're my newest dildo, bitch!" The demon screeches, resisting her spell.
Get Out!
Lamarial tried to forcibly remove Sev, spewing for an acid spray and hoping to eject the archdruid with it. He managed to hang on, though the group was doused, as well as attack a newborn demon as it rolled out, a gorilla-wasp Hezrou.

The Chaos of Battle
In what seemed a furious mess, Victoria, Sev, Serren and Anon fought against Lamarial and her Hezrou, spells fizzling, discharges flying, and other attacks going in rapid succession. The Hezrou found the sickly Finduilas and also began to attack her mercilessly, throwing chaos hammers at Victoria on the side.

Lamarial finally managed to remove the dimensional anchor and teleported to another portion of ceiling, minus the intrusive acid Sev.
"Too big for you ?" He spits out angrily.

"I hardly felt a thing!" She snarled back.
The spells against her continued to fizzle, her resistance proving a serious block for the casters. Lamarial shot another discharge, but was hit in kind by a flame strike in kind, which with the subdual knockdowns from Serren were beginning to take their toll.

When the justicator's time was up, he quickly left the plane, having experienced a little too much for his liking.

As the Hezrou looked about ready to kill Finduilas, Matthias overcame his nausea to deliver the wrath of Giantkind, destroying the demon utterly and saving the priestess's life.

Sev continued an outer assault, and Victoria managed to finally remove Lamarial's deathward.

Die, Bitch
Lamarial, looking properly trounced beyond even her regenerative abilities, and with a woozy, split smile, laughs, "Well, my lovelies, it has been a treat, but I will see you on the battle- *urck* battle... field..."

Just as she's about to teleport, a pilum flies through her head, sending her down. And standing behind her is Finduilas's mother. "Die bitch."
Reunion
In a moving reunion, mother and daughter embraced, even as Finduilas stood a little dumbfounded. Katcha explained the Rayans were warned and assisted by the Thormian flock, who had been tracking Delilahn flock movements and discovered the terrible secret of the demon lord with them. While many Rayans died trying to defend the temple and the vale, the children and many others were safely tucked away in the Thormian roost.

The Delilahn raptorans whom the group saw flying towards them were stragglers hoping to loot the temple since its fall, but met a swift end. It was then the group noticed several hundred raptorans approaching, heron-like Rayans and eagle-like Thormians.

Melting Point
The group removed themselves, Katcha and the surviving Rayan clergy melted away the tainted temple top in a hollocaust of holy flame. The leader of the Thormian forces, a battle-worn eagle of middling feather, invited them back for a celebration. So the group followed, Serren with the Angry Star.

Thormian Roost
The roost was situated on a particularly snowy mountain carved in a vague likeness of an eagle head, mouth in a forever screech, which led down into a huge, heart-shaped cavern many hundreds of feet wide and high, with mercury wells at the bottom and the holy altar of Thorm.
Festivities

Fin
Fin asked the head priest, an old eagle with missing wing and armor too heavy to fly in without magic, to keep the Angry Star stored until a time she could purify it, which he agreed if she would put in a good word for him with her mother. The Angry Star was then placed in the safety of the vault and sealed shut, even as it glowed a furious red.

Matthias
Matthias encountered two paladins guarding the altar, or more like a tankard beneath it, which, after a bold statement that he was Thorm, provoked such a laughter they allowed him a taste. The brew was excellent, but cat piss to what giant's drank. Still, he enjoyed himself, poking at Fin a bit before asking the old eagle what he knew of divine sparks. The high priest's response was a crude one, of him being concerned more with his trouser spark, which only worked half the time, but when it did started a real fire. By that point, even Matt had had enough of sexual innuendo, and went for a bath and a bed. A blanched Finduilas followed right after, knowing the old eagle's bedfellow was her mother.

Sev
The archdruid spent his time talking to his crowbar, assuring its safety and promising to continued use. It revealed pleasure in helping put down such unnaturalness as the demons. It also revealed itself capable of speaking with other metals, if ever the need arose.

Victoria
Victoria continued her journey of self-discovery begun with Tameroc that morning. After a long discussion with the Koschei the First Lich, she discovered a philosophy on life and death that brought a modicum of inner peace and a greater understanding of the universe beyond the fundamentals of Rayans and demons.

Serren
Serren attended to his depressed minion, offering to reveal her missing memories by means of Doctor Phooka's scroll. For the first time since he'd known her, Idaasila looked genuinely interested. They removed themselves from the festivities and the spell was cast. The half-dragon began projecting images of her life for both of them to see.

The reel was short, as she was magically aged and barely a few months old, images of Daithrak, the black dragon elder, and tutelage under a lesser dragon Graeme. It ended with her kidnap by Serren's summoned weird from a motley collection of Kultussites.

Idaasila strained herself into a nosebleed, desperate to know more about herself, and revealed a shocking truth, that she was supposed to protect a shadow wyrmling named Taras. The little reptile was actually the spark of Kultuss himself, meant to broker a deal between dragons and demons at the glacier.

Serren raced out of the room to find the others, knowing his information was already over a month old. Had the deal succeeded? Was their an alliance of demons and dragons? If so, how would the dragons involve themselves?

Dark Tidings
And though most the group slept soundly and without dreams, there was so much yet to do and so little time to do it in. Serren tried waking Matthias and Fin, only to find them out cold and moaning over jam-pouring, and turned to Victoria, who urged patience until they'd all rested.

Session 68

Preparations
The group awoke from their uneasy slumbers or strained meditations, restored as they'd ever be, gathering their resolves and dispelling the last of the depravity to continue to the battle they all pensively awaited. During which time Finduilas healed Izaki of his resentment of the gods and Sev revealed a bit of his new fatalistic attitude. Victoria bestowed everyone with a Deathward, and Finduilas with a Holy Aura.

Serren had since escaped the watery vortex and found the well-hidden mechanism to close the portals and drain the submerged passage, leading the way onward.

Portals
Passing down the emptied passage, the group took note of two flanking portals, reading: Yssidral Bay #7 and Plane of Steam #7. Finduilas, Victoria and Matthias recalled these portals to be exactly like the ones they destroyed in the Crystal Caves.

Some in the group were beginning to develop alarming suspicions as to the purpose of portals taking salt water into the super-heated plane of steam, theories involving a certain glacier prison.

Crawling Cave
Through a steadily-widening tunnel, the group walked through a vast causeway whose walls writhed with millions of crawling insects, slick and black in what light the group shed. The group's feet crunched over chitin and a nightcrawlers, slugs and worms rained steadily. Large cave bulges actually shook themselves free of insects to reveal bear-sized spiders with tiny, white humanoid heads. They scurried about their own business as the group passed into the final chamber.

Serren slipped into the earth, passing beneath the group and slightly ahead, though sensing nothing at all touching the ground in his range of "blind-sight".

The Nexus of Anansiel
The tunnel opened up into a cavern so vast not even darkvision revealed it all, but by the stir of the air and the echo it was truly a sprawling underground. The entire space was covered in webs, thousands upon thousands of strands, some as thin as a finger and others as thick as a tree.

Fifty feet out from the entrance Serren conjured an explosion of flame, clearing a space for himself, but drawing the would-be demon lord out of hiding. She crashed on top of him with a thunderous shake of the cave.

The Crawling Queen
It was no exageration calling her Colossal, a being at the very least forty feet high and sixty across, so large darkvision could not reveal all of her horrific splendor, barbed legs clicking anxiously in the dark. She appeared a bare-chested giantess from the waist up of gray, ruined flesh, with two enormous spider fangs as arms and six, under-sized arms sprouting from her lower abdomen. They each wielded a magic longsword. Her face was particularly brutual to behold, a woman's with an oversized mouth in a perpetual grimace and collections of bulbous, red spider eyes that matched the hundreds of others bordering her waist. It was them you realized her humanoid half was burst from the mouth of a gargantuan spider, its crimson thorax like a setting sun behind her in the dim.

Give Me Back My Wife!
Anansiel made sure to dig into Serren as he was crushed beneath her, having a quick, mocking dialogue with the others. Gravant demanded to see his wife and the demon obliged, lowering Ilpa from the dark of the ceiling, upsidedown and entirely wrapped in webs but for her pristine, pale face. She was an elf... and looked no older than fourteen. Anansiel rubbed her cheek against the body and mocked some more, asking if the heroes were ready before reeling Ilpa back to the ceiling and going on the attack.

Barriers Come At Will
As would become painfully apparent throughout the battle, Anansiel commanded barriers of force blades at will, the first of which she conjured directly onto the group. Some were carved, all were forced to leap aside, and the exit was effectively blocked. No going back now...

Blinded!
While the mage was still pinned, Anansiel unleashed her nine strikes of utter annihilation, but thanks to the blessing laid by Finduilas, on the fourth strike the demon went blind! Shocked, she reeled back and abandoned what might have been the death of the Ever-Living.

Burst
Finduilas backed her promise of destruction with a burst of sunlight that seared away an eighty foot sphere from the webs, eliminating the obstruction between the group and their enemy, as well as burning the demoness a bit. The meleers rushed in, even as Matthias and Victoria seemed trapped in a magical stupor. Sev, Gravant, Izaki and Tasha all landed blows.

Hidden
Though Anansiel threw up a barrier of blades and managed, despite her blindness and enfeeblement, to land strikes, she eventually retreated to the darkness of the ceiling, where supernatural black granted her much-needed concealment. From their she launched a webbed net, one which caught Serren and Finduilas and thrashed them against the side of the cave, and stuck the rest of the group in place so as to suffer the effects of another barrier.

Serren retreated back into the earth as the demon queen seemed to again gain the advantage.

Fire and Storm
Sev shifted into a fiery bird and burned a path through the ceiling webs and into the magic darkness, swallowed by black and facing the unknown. Matthias followed just after and the sound of swords rang down, followed by a shower of blood, as Anansiel sliced the skald up.

Revealed!
Finduilas again shined when she enchanted an arrow with daylight and launched it into the darkness. The black disapated to reveal a wounded Anansiel clinging to the ceiling of the cavern about 140 feet up, Tazjaree, Ilpa and Sev unconscious in silk bonds along with a dozen other Veluvians. Matthias looked injured as he and the blinded demoness fought.

Cursed!
Able to see, Victoria wracked the Crawling Queen with a curse, one that managed to pierce even her many resistances. Anansiel could do nothing even as Matthias pressed his attack, Izaki flying up to join him.

The Glaive Proves Its Worth
Invoking the name of Thorm, Matthias grew to giant proportions and unleashed the fury of all giant king. The result was a veritable storm of steel and brawn, one that wracked the queen for damage the likes of which she never suspected.

Fin for the Win
The priestess finished the would-be demon lord with a beam of white hot light, dealing just enough to send Anansiel plummeting 140 feet and splatting her humanoid-half onto the stone in a wave of gore. Almost immediately, the bulbous thorax on her surviving spider half began to shiver and bulge. Large monsters looked like they were trying to break free.

Earth Shards and Giant Bolts
Serren launched a lingering earth shard attack, followed by Matthias's god-like descent against the spider body, enough together to burst the thorax wide, killing the spider but also unleashing Anansiel's brood.

The Fifteen Daughters of Anansiel
Fifteen large clones of Anansiel burst forth from the placental goo (and Serren's recipe still grosses me out). Each held some power of their mother, but stranger still, they all spoke as one in Anansiel's voice, as if her consciousness was transferred genetically. For the most part, the group had a much easier time handling the subdued power levels of the daughters, even slaying a few before the first three evolved into huge versions, no doubt on their way to becoming the next true Crawling Queen. The eldest three took the unconscious Sev, Ilpa and Tazjaree hostage.

A Thunderous Threat
What resulted from Matthias was a threat and a promise of hurricane proportions, inspiring such fear and awe it rocked even the huge clones backward. More out of panic than anything else, the eldest jabbed a claw downward for a coup de grace on the archdruid...

The Inevitable Use of Force
...Except Serren had already conjured a force bubble to protect the three helpless victims. Free to kill, the group did so, dwindling the daughters numbers until they broke apart and fled down various escape-route crevasses.

The Hunt
And so the hunt was on, Serren chasing some down with earth and water, and Matthias howling with glee as he charged through two blade barriers to pursue two terrified demons. When the bodies were piled, and Matthias returned singing a hunting saga, all the brood were accounted for but one. Victoria flew upward in search of it, irked by the thought of one left to grow into a new Anansiel and wondering if, with one survivor, her deal with Tameroc was truly met.

I'm Pregnant!
Those who could fly went about freeing Sev and Ilpa and the surviving six Veluvians, administering healing and stirring them all back to consciousness. The Veluvians experienced a deluge of emotion, ranging from fear and sadness to eventually gratitude.

Tazjaree was left for Serren to deal with. He fed her a potion and helped her down. There it was revealed she was pregnant with his child, a girl which she would name Hecate. After some trouble with Fin, the devil finally returned to her bag.

Victoria's Journey
Following the escape route all the way to a mage tower on the street level of Veluvia, she witnessed the demon and undead mobilizing amidst siege engines, the vanguard already departing toward Ivristel. Tameroc sat silently watching, something pinched between his fingers.

The envoy of Saspien went on to a revealing last encounter with Tameroc the Blind, that titanic angel of decay sitting utop the ruins of Bladen Wing.

Idaasila's Resurrection
Deep beneath the earth, Serren asked Finduilas a favor, resurrecting his fallen dragon woman to life. After Serren dug through Anansiel's entrails to find a single black scale, Finduilas obliged. In ten minutes time Idaasila was back to her same old depressing self. She cursed and shuffled back into the bag, a wonder she decided to come back from death at all.

Shepherd of the North
Sev gathered the distraught Veluvians and lead them out of the nightmarish cavern and up toward the second level, which still existed (apparently only destroyed in your minds, another illusion induced on the operating tables).

The second floor holds portals to:
  1. The Ilon Pass (the valley leading to Ivristel's gates)
  2. The Ruins of N'Catr (once the northern pirate city on the ice bridge)
  3. The Ruins of Mongrel (once the home of orcs and their evil kin in the Rutok Mountains)
  4. The Dawnspear Mountains ( just outside Fin's family roost)
  5. The Polarbite Glacier (location of the glacial prison)

Reunited
Hand in hand, Ilpa and Gravant walked last among the group, basking in each others company once more and looking, despite some strangeness in the physical age difference, very much in love.

Session Notes:
Though we did play a little further, it was very rushed, so I'm going to pick things up with the group leaving the dungeon. That way we can resolve issues involving the remaining portal network, the trapped Angry Star entity and the weapon, speak with Ilpa and whatever else you might want to do before leaving.
